Mariëtte Lowes is a qualified pharmacist and completed post-graduate qualifications in pharmacy at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, health professions education at the Maastricht University in The Netherlands, and business administration at the University of the Witwatersrand.
She was involved with the establishing of the Bone SA-initiated Centre for Tissue Engineering (CTE) at the Technikon Pretoria/ Tshwane University of Technology in 2002 in her capacity as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. She later became Director and Chairperson of the Bone SA Board.
Since the beginning of 2017 she is the Executive Director at Bone SA with the Marketing and Product Specialist as well as the Research and Development Consultant reporting to her.
She lives at the Hartbeespoort Dam in close proximity of her three grandchildren who provide for a busy but rewarding time when not involved with Bone SA.

Since my first introduction to Bone SA the unique nature and ethos of the company and its people never cease to amaze me. My involvement with Bone SA over the last 17 years have been exciting and stimulating and all energy and time devoted to this endeavour has been more than rewarding and worthwhile.’
